TMG Yachts Named Prestige Yachts’ Exclusive Australian Importer

Beneteau's luxury motor yacht brand now has an exclusive Australian importer

Sydney-based TMG Yachts has been announced as the exclusive Australian importer of the luxury cruising catamaran line Prestige Yachts.

Prestige is part of French brand Beneteau. The brand is made up of the M-Line range of multihulled powered catamarans, F-Line range of liveaboard monohulls, S-Line range of performance-focused monohulls and X-Line of trawler-style monohull cruisers.

The brand is focused on luxury cruising, with a line-up of sports sedans, flybridges and crossovers ranging from 12 metres to 25 metres in length.

Prestige Yachts Vice President Erwin Bamps said Australia was a key yachting destination and market for the brand.

“The widening product portfolio, with the recent introduction of our M-Line family of multihull motor yachts, is offering an opportunity to grow our presence in the Australasia market,” Bamps said.

“With our partner TMG Yachts, we look forward to further expanding our existing footprint with a clear focus on customer experience and service.”

TMG Yachts Managing Director John Cowpe said he was pleased to announce it would represent “one of the global powerhouses in motor yacht manufacturing” in Australia.

The flagship of the Prestige M-Line is the Prestige M8 powered catamaran. Prestige boasts the more compact design of this 20-metre boat features the same onboard living space as a 25-metre monohull, although providing the stability of a catamaran.

“Its unique design and distinctive hull affords you smooth and serene cruising, providing open, fluid movement on board, unencumbered by the physical limitations of a sailing catamaran,” Prestige says.

“This is a cruising experience that is more respectful of the environment and kinder to your hip pocket, consuming half as much fuel than a monohull with the same volume of living space.”

The Prestige M8 is powered by twin 600hp Volvo Penta D8 engines that use V-drives to make them more compact.

The boat can accommodate seven people and two crew in comfort, although extra sleeping spaces around the boat can expand that to 11 people. The crew quarters can also be expanded to four if needed.

The Prestige M8’s main deck is laid out as a single level, but with a high ceiling to give a sense of space, and side entry doors to open the space to the environment.

Several layouts are available for this space, including a U-shaped galley on the main deck, or tucked away below in one of the hulls.

Below, the Prestige M8 can have either four or five cabins, with the owner’s cabin using the full beam of the boat.

TMG Yachts is the new name for The Multihull Group.
