At 23.5m or 78ft 8in length over all, the new Outer Reef 24m is a smart semi-displacement long-range motoryacht with a range of up to 2300nm at 8 knots with the standard issue stabilisers deployed and all life's luxuries at your beck and call.
Using the same underwater profile and superstructure of the new Outer Reef 800, this 81.64t motor yachts is set-up for long-range cruising using twin 705hp Caterpillar C12s for a 14.5 knot top speed, but with optimal hull-cruising of 10 knots for an 1875nm range.
While this yacht’s primary market is for the explorer, adventurer and long distance cruiser, and while the OR800 is a very capable hull in a range of sea conditions, the 24m debuting at the Cannes Yachting Fesitival next month has been designed for a client who loves entertaining.
CORDON-BLEU CRUISER
On this 24M, Outer Reef says there is an equal emphasis on cordon-bleu cooking, fine wine and music as there is on tackling a seaway.
The owners have commissioned state-of-the-art professional galley equipment, together with a $280,000 concert hall-style entertainment system, making this one of the most alternative and exciting go-anywhere offerings at this year’s Cannes show, says Outer Reef.
The configuration of the main deck salon, designed for high level entertainment, features two-metre headroom and is likened to that of a significantly larger superyacht, with a Wenge and Walnut finish, and contemporary design and feel.
The U-shaped settee holds up to 10 guests with full access to the entertainment system and drinks bar area, all positioned conveniently next to the galley which, in turn, has direct access to the pilothouse.
"We have delivered a classic yacht with a modern and unique twist to an exemplary level. And, to my knowledge, this combination is unprecedented in this boat genre anywhere in the world," said Trevor DeFaoite, Outer Reef’s European sales director.
14 BERTHS
A full WheelHouse Technologies and Marine Maintenance System enables the owner/operator full control. However, there is an option to employ four crew.
Even crewed, the 24M is said to offer exceptionally comfortable and congenial surroundings for all, including a full beam master stateroom on a flat floor, with his and her ensuites, together with two double berth VIP guest staterooms and another ensuite. There is capacity for 14 berths including crew all told!
Outer Reef says initial sea trials concluded that even when the water and fuel tanks were empty, the overall stability remained excellent.
Designed with a walkaround fully sheltered main deck leading to a Portuguese bridge ahead of the fully weather proofed pilothouse, the 24M provides safe areas to operate in all weather conditions.
There are fore and aft decks, which complete the main deck layout, clad with teak, sun bathing and luxury dining facilities. On this model, a fighting chair on the aft deck has also been fitted so you can battle swordfish.
The so-called Deluxbridge has a full-beam flybridge with teak decks, helm position and seating for 10 near the boat's BBQ on the aft deck, leaving enough space for a tender and PWC to be dispatched from the 800kg davit.
The Outer Reef 24M comes with all the trimmings of a fun filled, luxury home with comfort in all weather and sea conditions.
