Outer Reef introduces Trident 620 Solara

A single-level long-range sedan with Cummins engines and pod drives

Outer Reef Yachts has introduced a sporty new sedan called the Trident 620 Solara to join the Trident 620 Flybridge with upper station. With an air draft of 4.3m, the low-profile sedan is said to be ideal for cruising canal estates and areas with low bridges but, being an Outer Reef, you would expect the boat to take long ocean crossings in its stride.

To this end, the new Trident 620 Solara is built to Ocean Category A Standards, "Unrestricted Navigation," and the highest RCD rating. The twin 550hp Cummins QSB6.7s are fitted with pod drives, with more than 3000 litres of fuel and 890 litres of water for extended range and time aboard.

A contemporary design, the Trident series stems from a co-operation with Setzer Yacht Architects. This has resulted in a plumb bow for increased interior volume compared to a traditional clipper bow and Euro-style decor elements that extend to the interior.

However, a few changes differentiate the Trident 620 Solara from the flybridge sister ship, including an optional opening sunroof so you can enjoy the wind in your hair. Owners should also welcome the galley aft with dining counter space and the open-air salon/aft deck for alfresco entertaining. The expansive hydraulic swim platform serves as a perfect launching pad for water recreation.

The Trident 620 Solara series offers the flexibility of three attractive interior palettes including modern, transitional, or traditional elements in combination with three interior layout configurations. Accommodation spans three stateroom, with a three en suite option, for up to six guests below decks, plus two guest/crew.

The engine room houses the Cummins engines and pod drives (standard), which are said to allow the Trident 620 Solara to cruise economically, comfortably, and safely at 10 knots, with a fast cruise speed of 20-22 knots and a top speed of 26-28 knots.  Enhanced fuel efficiency is said to be another feature More on the boat and local dealer eyachts at
