Riviera appoints dealers in India and Slovenia

Hard on the heels of delivering its first boat into the Indian market, Riviera has announced the appointment of its first dealer in that country

Riviera India represented the luxury boatbuilder at the Mumbai International Boat Show last month and Brendan Casey, dealer principal of Riviera India, says the company's display at the Mumbai Show was the second largest.

Riviera promoted its entire range at the show, with a strong emphasis on the larger models - 50 feet and greater - including the new Riviera 5800 Sport Yacht, the flagship 70, as well as the 43 Offshore Express (tested this issue).

In early December, Riviera delivered a 48 Offshore Express to a client in Chennai. Riviera sales and marketing director, Tim Sayer says: "Riviera staff visited Chennai to officially hand over the new vessel to our first client in India.

"We have been working in this emerging market for the past year. India is experiencing strong economic growth and there is a large increase in the number of people who want and can afford top quality luxury boats," Sayer says.

According to Queensland Government Minister for Trade, John Mickel: "India's recreational boating and marine sector has an estimated value of $US500 million and is growing at 20 per cent each year."

Meanwhile, Riviera has also announced the appointment of ASboats to represent the company in the European Republic of Slovenia.

Fronting the Adriatic Sea to the southwest, Slovenia in southern central Europe borders Italy to the west, Croatia to the east, and Hungary and Austria to the north.

ASboats will distribute its Sport Yacht range and work closely with Riviera's Croatia dealer, Nautika Centar Nava.

ASboats director, Roc Kociper said his company is excited to represent Riviera.

"The brand is established in our region and well known for quality and innovation. We are looking forward to taking delivery of our first Riviera 3600 Sport Yacht in June and plan a significant launch event in July at the Grand Hotel Bernardin, Portorose.

"We will also represent Riviera at the Izola Boat Show in Slovenia and at the Cannes International Boat Show in September," adds Kociper.
