The Azimut 60 Magellano will make its Australian debut alongside one of the Italian motor yacht maker's most popular flybridge cruisers at this year’s Sydney International Boat Show.
d’Albora Marine confirmed yesterday that the Azimut 60 Magellano will feature on the Darling Harbour marina alongside the Azimut 60 Flybridge once the show opens to the public in less than a fortnight.
Combined, d'Albora's Azimut display for Sydney is worth around $10 million.
The Azimut 60 Magellano is described by its maker as a “crossover” model, with the line featuring a dual-mode hull designed to maximise efficiency at two speeds – low to medium, increasing cruising range, and high speed – up to 26 knots – for getting to the destination quickly.
The boat on show in Sydney will feature three cabins and three bathrooms, helped by carrying the beam forward to maximise interior volume. It also has an option for crew quarters.
The Azimut 60 Magellano’s design features an open-plan main deck with an aft galley and seamless access to the outdoor spaces.
The boat on display is owned by a repeat Azimut customer who has stepped up from a 43 Magellano, with d’Albora Marine chief executive Matt Walford saying d’Albora attended the 60 Magellano’s global launch in Sicily, as well as visiting the shipyard after the boat’s completion to ensure it was perfect for the owner.
“This boat included upgraded bench tops, custom herringbone oak floors and even a custom cockpit gate to keep the owner’s dogs safer,” Walford said.
The Azimut 60 Flybridge is Australia’s most popular Azimut model to date, and also features three staterooms and bathrooms, although also has quarters for a single crew.
Inside, the Azimut 60 Flybridge features a designer interior, full-height dinette windows and an entertainer’s flybridge.
The boat on show – and on sale – in Sydney includes an exclusive list of options and upgrades, including a Seakeeper gyro stabiliser to give more stability at rest or underway, bow and stern thrusters, joystick control for making it easy to bump in and out of a marina, and “various decor improvements”.
Powering it are twin 900hp Volvo Penta D13 shaft drive diesel engines.
The 2024 Sydney International Boat Show is held at Darling Harbour from August 1-4. Tickets for adults aged 16 and over cost $27.90 and are
