This is it. The 2022 Maritimo S600 Offshore has finally been revealed in full, revealing the sedan-styled version of the Gold Coast-based luxury motor yacht maker’s long-range bluewater cruiser.
The sedan joins the Maritimo M600 Offshore, the enclosed flybridge version of the motor yacht revealed earlier this year. The sedan version was teased at the recent 2021 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show but finally gets its world debut.
Maritimo said the S600 Offshore was based on a hull that was an advanced evolution of Maritimo’s longstanding experience in long-range cruising design and world-leading shaft drive performance and efficiency.

“With its offshore cockpit and hardtop utility space, the S600 will have broad appeal both as a highly functional fishing vessel, with its specialty open water fishing attributes, and as a long-range, low height, high volume, luxury motor yacht capable of inter-continental passage making,” it said.
“The remarkable offshore cockpit with enclosed transom makes the S600 Offshore ideal for those with varying fishing interests or any that embrace the encapsulated deck space with solid separation to the sea.”
Maritimo designer Tom Barry-Cotter said the S600 Offshore’s performance was “uniquely Maritimo”.
“The variable deadrise hull with deep keel, sharp bow entry and flattened progression aft has been focused on offshore cruising performance, comfort and stability,” Barry-Cotter said.
We also learn more details about how the Maritimo S600 Offshore will be built and packaged.
Twin 800hp Volvo Penta D13 12.8-litre inline six-cylinder power units will turn the S600 Offshore’s straight shaft drives delivering what Maritoimo claims will be “world-class fuel efficiency and excellent operating economy combined with very low emissions”.
Owners with a focus on higher performance can tick the option for 1000hp versions of the Volvo Penta D13, or 1200hp Scania V8 Di16-1200s.
“Cruising efficiency and capacity meld to give the S600 incredible long-range capability with a 4550-litre fuel capacity within,” Maritimo said.
“Three fuel tanks are positioned strategically to keep weight as low as possible in the hull, adding to stability.”
The Maritimo S600 Offshore is believed to be using the same fuel tank distribution as the Maritimo S55/M55 pair launched at the 2021 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. This includes a central tank laid along the keel and two “wing tanks” to either side that gravity feed into the main tank.
The innovation means the fuel tanks can be brimmed from a single side instead of needing to turn the boat around to change sides.
Maritimo said the S600 Offshore’s expanded cockpit hardtop amplified the amount of area available on the sedan hardtop, an area that traditionally has not been utilised.
The space is also capable of storing large items such as kayaks, stand-up paddleboards or life rafts, for adventuring enthusiasts.
It has been designed and engineered to fit a davit and carry a tender of up to 350kg, freeing up the extended cockpit to be used for activities as diverse as diving or fishing.
For more serious fishing, the Maritimo S600 Offshore can be optioned with no rear platform so the skipper can more easily back up on a fish, with Maritimo saying it had a number of game tower designs that integrate with the hardtop utility deck.
Just like the Maritimo M600 Offshore, the S600 Offshore features an aft deck space with two distinct cockpit areas; an upper lounging and entertaining cockpit sheltered by the extensive moulded hardtop headliner and an open deck space designed with “heavy consideration of fishing functionality”, including space for a fishing chair.
Integrated into the cockpit space are large wing lockers, transom wells, in-deck fish boxes, an enclosed transom gate, rod holders, and flush gunwale capping.
A large lazarette is located below the cockpit floor, accessed via a day hatch or a large electrically actuated opening.
But it is in the saloon where the Maritimo S600 Offshore differs widely from its flybridge-equipped sibling.
Entry to the deck-level saloon is via either siding or bi-fold doors opening up to the traditional Maritimo aft galley.
“Injecting light and air to the saloon and helm is the option of Maritimo’s unique two-stage vista sliding windows, which transform the areas into an indoor/outdoor escape,” Maritimo said.
Accommodations include a full-beam master suite with a king-size bed with an ensuite, a forward VIP suite with an offset queen-size bed, and a twin single guest’s stateroom to starboard.
“Below decks, we have gone to incredible efforts in creating free-flowing spaces that best utilize the hull’s enormous volume, maximising height and minimize the number of steps in the floors and the ceilings,” Barry-Cotter said.
“The S600’s three staterooms feel like they could be within vessel’s much larger in size, thanks to the interior’s innovative floorplan meld with the high-volume hull”.
Barry-Cotter said Maritimo’s order books were at record levels, with many buyers placing orders directly off the plans.
“It’s an exciting journey to be a part of, to be welcomed into the development process of a new model such as the S600 Offshore, and be able to experience how your boat morphs from plans to production,” he said.
“Recently, we have had a group of owners experience the development journey of the M55 Flybridge Motor Yacht, and it is such an enjoyable experience to help them create their dream boat through the process”.
The first production Maritimo S600 Offshore is expected to roll out of the Gold Coast factory early next year.
