New Caribbean 2700 with twin outboards

Venerable Australian boating brand Caribbean has embarked on a new direction with the launch of the new 2700 Outboard model. The twin outboard-powered rig will be displayed at the Melbourne Boat Show in June on the St Kilda Boat Sales stand E16.

The Caribbean 27 is currently available as Sterndrive Flybridge and Runabout models. The new 2700 Outboard complements the existing two models to give buyers more choice in the layout and propulsion system of their boat.

The new 2700 features a fully integrated engine well which has been rated to take up to twin 250hp outboard motors (total 500hp). The display boat will feature twin Mercury Verado 250hp outboards. A transom door and live bait tank are also moulded as standard into the transom.

The interior layout of the big cockpit has been deliberately left uncluttered and will feature a helm and companion seat mounted on FRP boxes. There will be a sink/stowage compartment under one seat and an insulated icebox under the other, with a folding/removable rear lounge.

Provision has also been made for underfloor kill tanks. But if you are not into fishing and just looking for an all-rounder, interior upgrades are available in the form of lounges, dinettes and a galley as well.

Either way, parent boat-builder International Marine says the new 2700 Runabout hull will feature Caribbean’s legendary bluewater ride and performance.
