Award-winning manufacturer Maritimo will launch its magnificent new 73 cruising motoryacht at the Sydney International Boat Show on July 30.
The largest vessel ever designed and built by Maritimo CEO Bill Barry-Cotter, the 73 Motoryacht is a luxury 50-tonne boat with four double cabins and almost endless entertaining areas that can reach a top speed of more than 34 knots.
The new flagship recently made its first sea trials at Gold Coast Broadwater and Bill Barry-Cotter said the new boat was "fantastic".
"The team has achieved everything we planned two years ago," he said. "This is an outstanding boat and a credit to our entire team of craftspeople."
Although billed as the "73", the big Maritimo is actually 80 feet (24.38 metres) overall when the bowsprit and integrated hydraulic swim platform are included. The 21.5ft (6.6 metre) beam gives the vessel huge interior volume.
The boat features a full-width master stateroom amidship with an adjoining his and her bathroom and a walk-in wardrobe. The three guest cabins, two staterooms and the third a two-berth bunk cabin, each have separate bathrooms.
Powered by twin 1500 hp Caterpillar turbo diesels, the Maritimo 73 carries 9500 litres of fuel and 1720 litres of fresh water.
One feature sure to impress both prospective owners and their guests is the addition of an enclosed head in a corner of the sprawling flybridge. The fully enclosed flybridge is furnished with a large lounge of either side, a central entertainment console and a forward-facing lounge on the port side. Forward again is the centrally-mounted helm chair with companion chairs on either side.
Barry-Cotter believes owners and the guests will spend most of their time in this comfortable area during passages.
The 17.7 square metre cockpit features both seating across the transom and a L-shaped lounge in the starboard quarter.
The transom opens to reveal a "garage" capable of swallowing a five metre tender and a host of water toys. If needed, there is also room to install a separate cabin for crew.
The Maritimo 73 will be just one of more than $16 million worth of vessels the company will display in Sydney. Also on show will be new Maritimo A50 Aegean enclosed flybridge, the 48 motoryacht, the 52 motoryacht, the 60 motoryacht and the 500 and 550 Offshore models.
