Maritimo 73 Motoryacht

Maritimo's new model is the largest Australian made production boat

Roll out the red carpet and sound the drum-roll, the Maritimo 73 Motoryacht is the biggest production boat ever made in Australia and made its eagerly awaited debut at the SIBS this year.

After investing $10 million on R&D in the last year when others were sitting on their hands, and with a further $10 million to be spent in product development next year, Maritimo is a boating marque on the march.

Its new flagship 73 Motoryacht has been built on the Gold Coast in the first Australian boatyard awarded ISO9001 accreditation. That means you can count on consistent high-quality.

Pitched at those with itchy feet, a hankering for the deep blue, and deep pockets, the 73 Motoryacht is the magnum opus of Bill Barry-Cotter, the doyen of Australian boatbuilding.

TWILIGHT CRUISER
Quite by design, his award-winning, long-range cruisers target the mature boating market. As such, there are walkaround sidedecks instead of gunwales along which you would otherwise teeter, staircases instead of ladders, and more amenities than ever to create a real home-away-from-home.

Built on the bigger-is-better tenet, the new 73 Motoryacht takes ocean travel to a new level of luxe. The sweeping accommodation plan spans four luxury cabins, none more indulgent than the master stateroom that runs the full 6.6m beam of the boat. Located amidships, the stateroom is devoid of the at-times pesky sound of water slapping the bow.

Of the remaining three cabins, two have queen beds. The twin-bunk cabin is intended for kids or crew. There are also two more en suites with oversized showers. While water capacity is 1720 litres, a boat of this calibre carries a desalinator for endless hot showers.

Despite its size, Maritimo says the 73 Motoryacht is capable of a sizzling 34kts when coupled to twin 1550hp C32 Caterpillar turbo-diesel engines. At rest, meanwhile, the transom opens to reveal a large garage suitable for launching a five-metre tender and any number of water toys. Separate crew's quarters are an option preferred by the European market.
