First look: 2020 Princess X95 Super Flybridge starts sea trials
The Princess X95, the British luxury yacht brand's pocket superyacht, takes to the water for sea trialsLuxury British motor yacht brand Princess Yachts has released images of the Princess X95 Super Flybridge, an all-new vessel that crams superyacht levels of space into a compact form, undergoing sea trials.
The British brand’s first Pininfarina-designed X95 looks stunning in glossy black, its pincer-style bow creating a distinctive contrast against the sheen of the hull.
Shown in concept form last year, the Princess X95 Super Flybridge is yet to make its global debut.
Tall and with a rakish deadrise carried well forward, the 104-tonne floating palace looks like a shrunken-down cruise liner.
The real-world boat looks almost exactly like it did in concept form, although the glass balcony railing around the rear of the almost full-length flybridge in the real-world motor yacht looks as though it sits a bit lower.
Sculpted surfaces
“Characterised by beautifully sculpted surfaces and long flowing lines, the X95 defines a striking design language for this new class,” Princess says in its description of the luxury cruiser.
“Both her flybridge and main deck cover almost the full length of the yacht, delivering expansive spaces with flexibility that enables you to define each journey around your guests’ preferences.”
Adding to the cruising credibility is a 13,400-litre fuel capacity feeding the twin 1900hp MAN V12 engines that drive the Princess X95.
Maximum speed is estimated at between 24 to 26 knots.
The Princess X95 will come with a full-beam amidships master cabin, a forward VIP stateroom with its own walk-in ensuite, and port and starboard guest cabins.
As befitting a vessel of the Princess X95’s stature, there is also comfortable crew quarters.
There’s no word yet on when the Princess X95 will make its official debut.
The Princess X95 is the first of six new vessels the British luxury yacht maker has flagged will soon join its line-up.
