Clipper's Gold Coast showcase

Open house at new location

Clipper Motor Yachts, whose traditionally designed motor cruisers have been drawing increasing interest from buyers in the past few years, is celebrating its new waterfront location at the Gold Coast City Marina with an open house boat show this weekend (Saturday August 28 and Sunday August 29).

The Australian owned and managed company, which builds both the Heritage displacement and Cordova semi-displacement line of motor cruisers, will have three new boats -- the Heritage 40, the Cordova 48 and the flagship Cordova 60 -- on display on Saturday and Sunday.

After achieving great success at the recent Sydney International Boat Show, Clipper's managing director Brett Thurley says Queensland buyers will have the chance to see the three new motor cruisers up close.

"We have recently delivered five new Clippers to south-east Queensland," Thurley told BoatPoint, "Thanks to our owners, we will showcase a brand new Heritage 40, a new Cordova 48 and a new flagship Cordova 60."

Thurley says the traditional and fuel efficient Heritage 40 continues to be one of the most popular models in the Clipper range, while the new Cordova 48 – which offers the option of higher speeds with its semi-displacement hull – has been winning admirers and new owners since its world launch at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show earlier this year. Time poor executives can use the higher speeds to ensure they reach their favourite cruising grounds in plenty of time to relax for a weekend.

Thurley anticipates that a lot of interest will also be shown in the Cordova 60 which he says in an awesome boat. "We have delivered three of this model in the past few months," he says, "With its separate internal staircase, a full width owner's stateroom amidships and large walk-around side decks, she is the jewel in our crown."

The Cordova 60 offers the space and safety demanded by more experienced boat owners who don’t want to be worried by their guests snoring at night or by the problems of climbing a ladder to the flybridge with drinks or food during passage making.

Thurley says the Clipper showcase will open on the A-arm of the marina between 10am and 4pm on Saturday and between 10am and 2pm next Sunday.

He says every member of the experienced Clipper Motor Yachts team will be on hand to answer questions and conduct detailed inspections.

The Gold Coast City Marina is located at 76-84 Waterway Drive, Coomera, in the Gold Coast Marine Precinct.
