Gold Coast based Clipper Motor Yachts has pushed ahead in recent years with a range of new models and increasing sales, but the importer says that 2016 is shaping up to be the best in the company's history.
Managing Director Brett Thurley said the next 12 months would be very exciting for Clipper and also for a number of new owners who will have their vessels commissioned and delivered.
"We have exciting things happening with the arrival of our Hudson Bay sedan range in 44, 47 and 51 feet later this year," he said.
"Also arriving will be our new 51 Cordova which features an oversized cockpit and flybridge overhangs along with midship owner’s suites featuring island beds.
"We will also deliver two of our new Explorer 50 pilothouse models this year, a new Hudson Bay 36 and we will see the completion of the first Explorer 58 pilothouse.
"The key attributes of our motor yachts are their fuel efficiency, seaworthiness, stability, ease of handling, build quality and value and that is resonating more and more with the boat buying public.
"However our latest design incorporates the creature comforts of large cockpits, cockpit seating and cleverly designed owner’s accommodations not previously seen before in this style of vessel.
"Our new Clippers will also have a modern, clean and contemporary styling but still have a touch of the timeless style we are known for.
"By using lighter colours, more subtle timbers in the interiors and contemporary fabrics throughout the wall linings we have developed what we believe is a real compromise between the trawler style look and feel of classic design and the new trends more popular in today's boat interiors."
Thurley said the milestones that were due to be reached this year included the company's release of the first new Hudson Bay 36, twin cabin diesel shaft drive sedan in February.
Also this month, the 10th Clipper Explorer 60 is due to be commissioned and handed over and in March the third Explorer 50 will be delivered.
A new model, the Cordova 51, is currently being built for its new owner after he decided to upgrade from a Clipper 48 and it will be delivered later this year. The first Hudson Bay 47 is also currently in-build and will also arrive towards the end of the year.
Thurley said a new Explorer 58 was due to head to its European home this year and a new Clipper twin cabin, semi- displacement flybridge model was being released to replace the Clipper Heritage 40.
Thurley said Clipper Motor Yachts attention to detail in design and also in construction was becoming more widely recognised as the brand expanded its reach internationally.
"Our people on the ground in Asia are second to none and the yard there is totally committed to reaching the levels of excellence we demand and that shows in the quality of the vessels that we are producing," he said. "This year and next will be very exciting for us and the strong customer base that Clipper has."
