Beneteau Swift Trawler 47, Flyer 10 line up for Sydney show reveals

Two new French-owned models make their Australian debut at Sydney’s biggest boat show

French boat-maker Beneteau will line up the all-new Swift Trawler 47 and the Flyer 10 as Australian premieres at the 2019 Sydney International Boat Show.

The three-cabin Beneteau Swift Trawler 47 is an open flybridge family cruiser, while the Beneteau Flyer 10 is classed as a liveaboard powerboat that blurs the line between an outboard-engined sports boat and a compact motor yacht.

The Beneteau Swift Trawler 47 is the second-largest hull in the cruising yacht’s seven-model line-up, outgunned only by the flagship Swift Trawler 50.

The range is designed to be a fast and easy to operate trawler-style boat with intelligent design that maximises seaworthiness and living space.

The Beneteau Swift Trawler 47 is aimed at the larger family, with sleeping space for up to eight people split across three staterooms and a converting lounge.

The boat features what Beneteau says is a practical, open deck plan, a large flybridge rated for up to four people, and a transom area optimised for leisure activities that includes a swim platform.

An option is joystick controllers that make low-speed manouvering in tight spaces, such as getting back into the marina berth, much easier.

In contrast, the Beneteau Flyer 10 is the largest hull in the outboard-powered overnight boat line-up. “The Flyer 10 combines all the strengths of the range and is positioned at the intersection between the day boat and the express-cruiser,” it says.

Beneteau says the Flyer 10’s cockpit is modular and spacious, with a large saloon that transforms into a sunbathing area “in no time at all”.

“The galley has all the equipment you need to cook real meals onboard, so you can really enjoy life aboard. ,” it says.

It says deck space is optimised, particularly to the bow where the layout
is adapted to provide easy access to a vast sunbathing area for three people.

The comfort inside is worthy of a cruiser, with two bright cabins and a real
shower space separate from the toilet.

Powered by up to 700hp of outboard engines, the Flyer 10 is equipped with Beneteau’s Airstep2 stepped hull technology. The boat-maker claims this helps the hull to lift off “in just a few seconds” to reach a peak speed more than 40 knots.
