Yanmar 3JH4

Yanmar's 3JH4 produces a lot more torque than its predecessor for no additional weight, as Andrew Norton discovers
TORQUE CURVESSMALLER IS BETTERUSER FRIENDLY

For cruising yachts capable of reaching 8kt at WOT, Yanmar recommends fitting an 18 x 11.4in pitch three-bladed prop for the 2.33–2.36:1 ratio box and an 18 x 12.6in for the 2.61–2.64:1 ratios, both props having a blade area ratio of 0.43.
