Yamaha torques up portable four-strokes
Yamaha has boosted its range of portable four-stroke outboards with the release of the new F15C and F20B models, which share the same new powerhead configuration."Outboards in the portable range work extremely hard, from pushing heavy commercial loads to high speed operation on the back of inflatable boats and aluminium dinghies," company spokesman Brett Hampson said.
Both new Yamaha models utilise CDI microprocessor ignition and are available in short and long shaft configurations.
These new releases are said to feature easy handling, with either forward steering controls or Yamaha's multi-function tiller handle.
The F15C, sharing the same engine as the larger output F20B, is said to have excellent low-down torque from a lightweight powerhead, producing 15hp (11kW) at 5000 to 6000rpm.
The F20B delivers 20hp (14.7kW) from a maximum range of 5000 to 6000rpm.
