Yamaha Motor Australia has targeted a new generation of personal watercraft enthusiasts with two sleek new models, the VX18R and the VX18S, which both feature a lightweight hull and a powerful 1812cc DOHC four-cylinder, fuel-injected engine.
The combination of the lightweight NanoXcel VX hull with the extremely powerful 1812cc engine, from the company's larger FX series of PWCs, gives the VX18R and the VX18S genuine sports riding performance and makes them the most affordable muscle craft on the local market.
Both PWCs deliver real grunt for instant acceleration, impressive top speeds and agile handling.
The two craft are expected to find instant acceptance with the new wave of PWC riders who want ultimate sports performance in a package that is easy on the hip pocket.
Both the VX18R and the VX18S feature a semi-V, multi-chine hull for neutral handling, optimum stability and comfortable riding. The round keel delivers grip and balance during cornering.
NanoXcel, a patented lightweight material exclusive to Yamaha's WaveRunner range of PWCs, is much stronger than conventional hull materials and also up to 25 per cent lighter -- giving increased agility and more efficient fuel consumption. NanoXcel is not only lighter than conventional hull materials but its structure makes the surface perfectly smooth, giving a hull quality unmatched in the PWC market.
Both craft feature multi-function instrumentation, reverse and an extended rear boarding platform, The more luxurious VX18R also offers an ergonomically designed two-step seat for increased riding comfort and a re-boarding step to make life easier for the driver.
With a manufacturer’s RRP of $16,501 for the VX18R and $16,280 for theVX18S, both models offer exceptional value for those who want high-performance, sports-style craft.
Both models run on standard unleaded petrol and have a fuel capacity of 60 litres. There is also storage capacity of 57 litres on both models, enough to take towels, drinks and snacks. The weight capacity is 240kg, meaning up to three average-sized people can be carried.
