Yamaha has taken the paintbrush to more of its outboard engines, adding pearlescent white versions of the F50, F70 and F90 to its showroom line-up.
The new looks expand the option to some of Yamaha’s most popular outboard engine models and add to the pearlescent white V6 models launched earlier this year, including the four-cylinder F115 and F150 and F200, and the V6-engined F250 and F300.
It is also available on the flagship Yamaha 425 XTO Offshore launched in Australia in 2019, which has carried the pearlescent white option from its global reveal the year before.
Yamaha has not disclosed how much extra owners need to pay to get a different look to the standard grey for the 996cc four-cylinder four-stroke F50, F70 and F90 models, but on larger the outboard engines it charges $1600 for the paint swap.
“We are seeing strong growth across the industry in the average spend on boating packages as boaters increasingly demand the latest hull, engine, boating control and display technologies to take their on-water experience to the next level,” Yamaha Marine national sales and marketing manager Grant Binskin said.
“This drive for personalisation and customisation extends to aesthetics, with more and more buyers requesting painted or wrapped hulls, to express their individual styles and tastes.
“Yamaha has come on board with this trend by allowing boaties to mix and match their outboard with their hull with the release of our eye-catching pearlescent white outboards, in addition to our ever-popular traditional Yamaha grey.”
Yamaha’s 50hp to 90hp outboard engines are a popular choice for aluminium and fibreglass boats ranging between 4.2 metres and 5.2 metres – a size range that makes up a large part of the Australian recreational boating market.
