For the third year running, Yamaha Motor Australia has opened the doors of its National Marine Office to take students behind the scenes of the marine and motorcycle manufacturing giant during the 2014 Work Inspiration Activity.
Earlier this month, 66 students from Sandgate State High School, Upper Coomera State College and Wynnum State High school were privy to the inner operations of the Yamaha head office in Brisbane, Australia.
Over the three day work-inspiration program, students had the opportunity to meet and interview Yamaha Motor staff from each department, partaking in industry-related workshops and enjoying an exclusive tour of the Yamaha Factory Racing ASBK Team and the off-road GTYR Team.
Students that took an interest and applied themselves during the program will earn an invitation to the up-coming 2014 Yamaha Student Grand-Prix, an advanced industry-related work-experience program.
"We’ve been involved with the Work-Inspiration program since the beginning in 2012. Since then we’ve opened our doors to hundreds of young people, allowing them unprecedented access to the internal workings of our company and industry," said Martin Dwyer – National Yamaha Training Manager.?
"The feedback from the students, teachers and parents alike has been extremely positive, with many students pursuing a career in the industry as a result of these programs."
The 2014 program will conclude with the Student Grand Prix. Yamaha will open its doors again to provide these students with some hands-on learning and evaluation in basic servicing skills. ?For more information on the Work Inspiration Program, visit www.workinspiration.com.au.
