Yamaha F40F outboard

The manufacturer said the innovative and compact 40hp engine now boasts a sophisticated fuel injection system for improved fuel efficiency and outstanding power-to-weight performance plus full connectivity to Yamaha's digital control LAN system.

Yamaha said that at the heart of the new F40F outboard is the company's electronic multipoint fuel injection system which,  combined with an electronically controlled single throttle valve, long intake track manifold and 32-bit electronic control module, delivers lightning starts, smooth and quiet performance, and precise throttle control.

Built around a six-valve SOHC in-line three-cylinder power unit, Yamaha said the new F40F is light and compact without sacrificing an ounce of performance and reliability.

The manufacturer said precision engineering has afforded it the room to develop a new benchmark for mid-range outboard performance that will appeal to both the commercial and leisure boating sectors.

"Yamaha's engineers have held nothing back in developing our new electronically controlled F40F outboard," said Brett Hampson, national sales and marketing manager for marine products at Yamaha Motor Australia.

"Our commitment to innovation and quality is evident with the new F40F sharing many engine technologies with our industry leading F350 V8," he said.
Yamaha said that with a stunningly modern cowling the next generation F40F four-stroke outboard resembles the cutting edge profile of its big brother F350.

The Japanese manufacturer said its intelligent F40F is available in three model designations: the F40FEHDL w/ electric start, multifunction tiller handle, hydro tilt, and long shaft; the F40FEHTL w/ electric start, multifunction tiller handle, trim and tilt, and long shaft; and, the F40FETL w/ electric start, forward control trim and tilt, and long shaft.
