Yamaha appoints Short Marine on Sydney Harbour

The outboard division of Yamaha Motor Australia has expanded its presence on busy Sydney Harbour with the recent appointment of Short Marine at The Spit in Middle Harbour.

Run by Ryan and Sam Short, the new Yamaha Outboard dealership is taking care of outboard sales, service and warranty work for retail and commercial customers.

While Ryan says they're offering keen sales discounts and will maintain top-shelf service to establish the new business, the Short brothers are no strangers to the marine scene.

Ryan has been running the travel lift and service departments at Fergusons Marina at The Spit for the last five years, with brother Sam assisting with the management of the busy marina.

Since taking on the Yamaha dealership in the last few months, Short Marine says it has sold more than 35 outboards from 2hp to 250hp on new boats and repowered rigs.

With a yard also in nearby Brookvale, Short Marine is working with boat dealers to rig their new craft.

The Short brothers, who are sons of the late Andrew Short who was pro-active in the marine scene, recently repowered a Boston Whaler sold by their dad in 2008. There's still a big and loyal Andrew Short Marine following in Sydney that will help underpin the new Short Marine business.

While the brothers aren’t playing their next Ace just yet, we believe they are planning to represent a US boat brand here in a move into boat sales. Watch this space.
