Yachting Developments new carbon 109ft fast sportfisherman

Yachting Developments signs order for new fast 33m carbon sportfisher with 4000hp, as demand grows for mega adventure sportfishing boats worldwide

Yachting Developments in NZ recently announced the signing of a new superyacht sportfisher order, a 33m (109’) known as Hull 1017, with work set to commence in early 2018.

The new order follows the launch of the world’s biggest carbon-fibre sportfisher, a 39.5m (129’6’’) super fisher known simply as Hull 1015, which we reported on in late-2017.

The new Hull 1017 is also an all-carbon fast sportfisher design that is aid to boast sleek and sporty lines, with a full carbon epoxy construction to achieve improved weight and performance.

Naval architecture and design work is by New Zealand design house Warwick Yacht Design.

Ian Cook, Managing Director of Yachting Developments, said the yard is proud to have signed this exciting new project.

“We look forward to collaborating with the Warwick Yacht Design team and their repeat client to bring this custom superyacht build to life,” says Cook.

“It is always a privilege to be chosen to work on a new build project and the signing of Hull 1017 is no exception.”

Yachting Developments has worked together with Warwick Yacht Design on five previous projects including 30.5m Quintessential.

Interestingly, there appears to be renewed global interest in new mega superyacht sportfishers, with a new 100-foot Nordhavn with fishing cockpit recently making news.

Yachting Developments is well-established globally as a builder of a wide range of custom projects, having delivered a variety of yacht styles including sailing yachts, motor yachts and catamarans, and in recent years more of these gargantuan sportfisher projects.
