Wyndham Harbour, the biggest marina complex ever built on Melbourne’s Port Phillip Bay, is rapidly taking shape as 30,000 tons of rock is deposited to form part of the southern breakwater. Already approximately 280 metres of the breakwater is visible.
Eventually, Wyndham Harbour will comprise around 1000 wet berths and 390 dry stack berths. It will be home to restaurants, cafes, and many diverse businesses in a $440m marina and residential community.
Wyndham harbour is offering 99-year leases on marina berths from 10 to 30 metres. According to a spokesman for the Wyndham harbour project, the 99-year lease offer is only for a limited time so potential purchasers should get in early.
The southern side of the marina is expected to be operational in approximately two years time.
Eager buyers have snapped up close to 90 per cent of land opportunities at Wyndham Harbour. The first stages of land all sold within weeks of their release, with a limited number of land opportunities remaining in the fourth and final land release.
When completed, Wyndham Harbour will be the only safe boat harbour between Williamstown and Geelong. It will serve as a much-needed destination for recreational boats from all over the Bay. Wyndham harbour will boast full facilities for the visiting boating public including fuel and pump-out services as well as 24-hour security and a harbour master.
Wyndham Harbour’s Development Director, Sonya Miller, isn’t surprised that Wyndham Harbour land has been so highly sought after. "Wyndham is home to some of Victoria’s best-known attractions including, the Werribee Open Range Zoo, Shadowfax Winery and the Werribee Park Mansion. Future residents at Wyndham Harbour will be able to enjoy a bayside lifestyle, while still having the convenience of being just 30 minutes’ drive to Melbourne’s CBD," Ms Miller said.
Certainly from our perspective here at BoatPoint and Boatsales, we're hanging out for a new destination to go boating on the bay! For too long there has been talk of new marina developments which have never come to fruition. It's great to see one finally get going.
