World and Australasian debuts at Sanctuary Cove Boat Show

Organisers of the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show announce a number of world and Australasian debuts from exhibitors

The 21st event is to be staged Thursday, May 21 to Sunday, May 24 at Sanctuary Cove at Queensland's Gold Coast.

Allan Barnett Motor Yachts is launching its High Seas 63ft at Sanctuary Cove. Built in Tasmania, the new model offers extra deck length behind the saloon and a wider swim platform than the 58ft model.

Perry Catamarans is showcasing the Perry MS-59, a motor-sailor version of the Perry 57.

Maritimo is launching worldwide the Maritimo 56 Cruising Motoryacht, a flying bridge motor yacht. The company is also displaying the Aegean 60, Aegean 55 and two smaller versions of the C60 Cabriolet - the C55 and C50 Cabriolet models.

Riviera, is releasing the new 5800 Sport Yacht and 3600 Sport Yacht Series II with Volvo Penta IPS in world launches. The Riviera Open and Enclosed Flybridge models, the 43 and 48 Offshore Express sport utility vessels and the complete range of sporty yachts will also be on display.

For smaller power boats, there is the world launch of CJH Yachts' 26ft Sportsfisher. Shipwright Chris Headley said he spent three years researching the project after talking to professional game fishermen, skippers and enthusiasts. Using naval architect Peter Hogbin, the company has designed the vessel as a day boat with fast capabilities to reach offshore fishing grounds. This trailerable vessel features a Carolina flared bow to keep passengers dry and a deep vee hull and return chines.

Southern Clipper Boats is launching a power/auxiliary sail catamaran with the project title of Southern Clipper 31. It showcases a new boat building system conceived by Col Clifford of Compucraft. Featuring a frame of round and square aluminium tube, the cladding of the boat is Polycore, a polypropylene honey comb cell which is impervious to rot, fungus and sunlight.

And there's the Australasian debut of the Hunter 27 Edge by exhibitor US Yachts who is also displaying the Hunter 27, Hunter 45CC and Hunter 45DS at the Show.

Charter Yachts Australia is showcasing the new Lightwave 45 Grande, currently in production and built by Queensland company Lightwave Yachts.

Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show General Manager Mark Jensen said the Show would offer engines and marine products of interest to the marine industry such as new products from Fixtech, ATL Composites and Furuno.

"Seapower Australia is debuting the new generation MAN V8 and V12 diesel engines while Raymarine Asia is launching its new A Series range of chartplotters/fishfinders in Australia at Sanctuary Cove," said Mr Jensen.

The 2009 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show is staged 9am to 5pm daily, Thursday, May 21 - Sunday, May 24 at Sanctuary Cove, Queensland, Australia. The Show is staged by Mulpha Sanctuary Cove.
