Wireless Wind Measurements

UK-based Tacktick's wireless, solar-powered wind measurement technology measures both wind speed and direction

The Micronet Power Boat Wind Transmitter is said to have numerous advantages over traditional systems. Being wireless and solar-powered means there’s no need to drill holes or run cabling to install either the transmitter or display. This means it can be installed in a matter of minutes, and that connection damage due to pounding seas, vibration or the accidental wrenching of cables is a thing of the past.

Tacktick technology has been developed largely in racing scenarios and is therefore said to be extremely robust and all instrumentation is waterproof to 10m.

The highly responsive transmitter sends data to any onboard Tacktick display. Analogue displays can be mounted anywhere from the flybridge to the cockpit.
