Yacht importer Windcraft's new offshoot eyachts has taken over the distributorship of luxury sailing yachts Buizen.
Buizen has recently released its new 52 and the company, under the leadership of Steve Howe, has invested in, and embraced, a lot of modern technology. The yachts are now designed using CAD technology and much of the wood is now cut using specialist routers and large sections of the interior can be assembled on the bench rather than in situ bringing increased efficiency.
However, the yachts are still semi-custom and hand built with a lot of input from owners.
With a view to marketing the yachts both locally and internationally, Buizen has teamed with eyachts and appointed them as their sole distributor. The launch of eyachts is Windcraft’s move into the premium, custom-built yacht market. According to Managing Director Peter Hrones, Buizen yachts fits perfectly into the portfolio.
Mr Hrones said he is also able to offer consultancy services to Buizen as they work on the final designs of the new Buizen 60.
