Whittley launches celebration models

Iconic Aussie trailerboat brand will celebrate 65th anniversary with new Fleetmaster models

Whittley Marine is set to celebrate 65 years of boat building with the release of two new Fleetmaster trailerable cruising models. The limited edition ‘heritage’ Fleetmaster 23 and Fleetmaster 26 will be the stars of the brand’s stand at the Melbourne Boat Show.

Whittley commenced building boats in 1953, when brothers Jim and Ossie Whittley built a boat for a friend. More than 400 bondwood cruisers were built by the company in the 1950s and 60s before Whittley became one of the pioneers of fibreglass boat building Down Under.

Built to celebrate the 65th Anniversary, the Fleetmasters reprise one of Whittley’s best known badges.

The new Fleetmaster 23 sports cruiser features the classic ‘home-away-from-home’ Whittley features with a standard double berth, fridge, sink, stove and toilet all standard. Whittley says the craft is “ideal for water sports, extended weekend living, fishing or cruising”.

Packaged on a Mackay Trailer with Volvo Penta V6 200 SX all-alloy, freshwater-cooled petrol sterndrive, it is priced from $99,990.

The Fleetmaster 26 remains under the all-hours trailerable beam of 2.5m but is a substantial 8.5m from stem to stern. It boasts a full-length hard top with sliding sunroof and features not commonly found in trailerboats including a stand up head and galley.

Whittley says the Fleetmaster 26 provides accommodation for four adults with a sliding cabin door for privacy.

Also packaged on a Mackay Trailer with Volvo V6 200 SX, the Fleetmaster 26 is available from $149,990

Whittley Marine Managing Director, Neville Whittley said: “The Melbourne Boat Show is Whittley’s hometown boat show, so it’s the perfect time to release these new model packages,”

“Victoria is a fantastic trailer boat state and a legally trailerable, live-aboard-style family boat is the ideal way to explore Victoria’s boating destinations for an extended weekend… The weekend starts the moment you pull out of the driveway,” Whittley stated.

Whittley’s home-town boat show opens June 28.
