Whittley launches aluminium boat range

New AL series complements brand's well-known fibreglass range

Whittley Marine Group has entered the aluminium boat market with a new range of compact, affordable models, now available across its five factory-owned dealerships nationwide.

The six new boat, motor and trailer (BMT) packages span a range of popular configurations – including open tiller steer, bow rider, runabout, side console, and centre console – all under 5.5 metres in length. Prices start at $16,990 and go up to just under $90,000 drive away, with all packages including local safety gear, registration, and a three-year warranty.

“As the country’s leading fibreglass trailer boat builder ... the natural progression for the brand is to offer an aluminium series of boats and bring another generation and style of customer into our dealerships and boat brand,” said Brock Cohen, National Dealership General Manager at Whittley.

“This decision is part of the Group’s strategic plan to offer a comprehensive, full-circle trailer boat experience for consumers.”

Cohen added that the new AL Series complements Whittley’s existing fibreglass lines – the FF, CR and SL families.

“Offering an alloy boat alternative to the traditional Whittley fibreglass range under $85,000 brings newcomers to the brand and forms part of the Whittley Marine Group’s philosophy to be market leaders in the trailer boat segment.”

The AL series boats are paired with Dunbier trailers and powered by either Mercury or Honda four-stroke outboards. Key features include painted hulls, full-length carpeted floors, front and rear rails, and bimini tops on select models. The range also benefits from Whittley’s performance-oriented SS hull design for added stability, fuel efficiency, and ride comfort.

The models in the AL Series include:

  • Open Tiller Steer: AL 1150 TS, AL 1280 TS
  • Side Console and Centre Console: AL 1480 SC, AL 1740 CC
  • Bow Rider: AL 1700 BR
  • Runabout: AL 1450 RA

The aluminium boats are built using either plate or pressed alloy construction and feature Whittley’s Super Tough Construction techniques, drawing on over 70 years of boat-building experience from the family-owned company.

Cohen also noted the Whittley AL series will appear at all major boat shows this year. “If you are considering a high-quality Australian-made aluminium boat package under five metres, you should consider a Whittley. I encourage you to review the range at the dealership or the company’s website.”
