Venerable Melbourne trailerboat builder Whittley Marine and digital-switching company FinScan have been working in cahoots to produce a new feature-rich, customised, touchscreen electrical system for the exciting XS 20 and XS 24 Wake Cruiser models debuting at the Melbourne boat show from June 17-20.
The dashing new XS 20 and XS 24 Wake Cruisers on debut will feature the latest FinScan Nucleus lite digital switching system that, says Finscan, will set these exciting new models apart from any other comparable boat in this style and size range.
The new XS 20 and XS 24 Wake Cruisers will be have a sleek new 4.3in touchscreen on the dash with single button activation for setting up the boat in various operational modes, displaying a complete functional battery monitoring system that reports the state of the house and start batteries, and for performing functions like control of the intermittent wipers.
Fourth-generation family member Alan Whittley, director of sales and marketing, said Finscan and Whittley have been working on a number of exciting new boat-integration systems that start here and will also be revealed later in the year.
"We are very excited to see our partnership with FinScan extend down from our CR 2800 to our new smaller Wake Cruisers (XS series) to be launched at the [Melbourne] show. We feel that this technology is a step
forward and that this should be offered to our smaller boat model
customers.
"The Nucleus lite power distribution unit is designed compact, fits in tight spaces for smaller boats. In addition to digital switching and circuit protection, it also incorporates state-of-the-art sensing technology for battery monitoring that no longer requires external current sensors such as shunts for high amperage current measuring. Everything is built in to the one compact box."
Whittley Marine group will debut the new XS 20 and 24 Wake Cruiser models with the new Finscan Nucleus Lite at the Melbourne International Boat Show from June 17-20. For more information see www.finscan.com.au,
