The logo, accompanying a fresh marketing approach, was previously 'Out of the Blue'. As of March, the logo is, '74 Islands Out of the Blue'.
"Cummins and Partners, who designed the new brand, kept the 'Out of the Blue' as it has been associated with the region for the past eight years," Tourism Queensland marketing director Kayleen Allen said.
She said many people were unaware of the fact the Whitsundays was made up of 74 islands.
"So highlighting this fact with the appropriate slogan and images enables the consumer to broaden their thoughts on how many beautiful islands there are in the Whitsundays," she said.
Tourism Whitsundays general manager Matthew Williams said the new marketing approach would highlight the diversity and scale of the destination, as well as its many attractions.
