Whitehaven Motor Yachts

Boating identity develops new range of Aussie-inspired luxury long-range cruisers

Keith Hanson has embarked on the development of an exclusive range of flybridge, sun bridge and sports motor yachts from 54 to 66 feet, to complement his successful New Ocean Yachts range. Australian-inspired and -designed, the new Whitehaven Motor Yachts range will launch in Australia at the 2014 Sydney International Boat Show with the arrival of their new 6000 Flybridge.

Very few of Australia’s big boat sales specialists can boast the navigational experience of Keith Hanson. With over 40 years racing, cruising and selling boats around Australia, Hanson has developed an intimate knowledge and understanding of what’s required to build a blue water capable luxury boat. The new Whitehaven Motor Yachts range reflects the passion, experience and knowledge, and have been built and designed to deliver the ultimate luxury blue water cruising experience.

Hanson says the blue-water credentials start below the waterline, considerable emphasis has been placed on the hydro-dynamic performance of the hull and running surface. A new hull design was created to deliver a dry and stable ride when cruising between 18-22 knots while also offering economical displacement performance for long-range cruising.

Above the waterline, the stylish exterior lines are complemented by the category leading space and layout of the mezzanine, flowing through to the luxurious saloon. Forward and aft galley layout options offer great levels of customisation, along with a variety of the finest fixtures and finishes available on the market today.

Each model in the Whitehaven range will offer a generous full-beam master stateroom with a selection of two or three stateroom accommodation layouts extending the levels of customisation. The fittings and finish of the Whitehaven Motor Yachts range reflect that of the latest design houses of Europe’s leading motor marques and rarely offered by competing boats on the market today.

Hanson will offer only shaft drive engines from 700 to 1200hp across the Whitehaven range, with all engine options available with joystick control for manoeuvrability.

"Whitehaven Beach is an iconic Australian location and it is the remoteness and beauty of the location that will be reflected in our boats," said Hanson. "The beauty because our Whitehaven range look incredibly stylish outside, and finished like no other inside reflective of the stunning location. And remoteness as it reflects the ability of our boats to take you on extended trips in supreme dryness, comfort and safety," Hanson went on to say.

To coincide with the announcement, Keith has confirmed that his WA Dealer Martin Box Marine, who recently delivered their first 68 fly bridge, will represent the Whitehaven range in Western Australia, and Laurie Collins Marine in Auckland will represent the brand in New Zealand.
