For those looking for a thoroughly unique, bespoke boating experience from concept to completion, Whitehaven Motor Yachts says it has the answer with its new 750 Sports Yacht.
The vision of long-standing customers, Ray and Denise David, the new 750 Sports Yacht, to be named Finito, is said to be entirely their creation.
The evolution of their previous 650 model, the 750 Sports Yacht has been designed and constructed to their brief by the expert Whitehaven team using the respected New Ocean yard in Taiwan.
The much-anticipated new model is the eighth vessel and the largest to date for the luxury motor yacht company. Whitehaven says fastidious attention to detail, superior performance and state-of-the-art engineering are its hallmarks.
SPECIAL SEMI-CUSTOM CRUISER
Moving up 10-feet in length overall, the 750 Super Yacht gave the Davids enormous scope for customisation. This is the major drawcard of the brand as far as this couple is concerned.
"The 750 Sports Yacht will be a spectacular vessel with the ability to perform in all conditions," said co-founder of Whitehaven Motor Yachts, Keith Hanson.
"It will feature a deep V-hull, deep reverse chines and zero-speed stabiliser fins, providing a stable, soft ride with the added luxury of enhanced living spaces."
According to the owners, the 750 Sports Yacht has been "customised to perfection."
The boat features a single level open-plan living and dining space for entertaining. For ease of service and to maximise seamless flow between interior and exterior, the kitchen boasts an island bench complemented by a hutch window that opens out to the outside bar seating.
For sun-lovers and those looking to socialise or just unwind and soak up the views, the foredeck has a generously proportioned six-seater lounge area, truly maximising onboard recreation space.
The single level saloon and living space flows out to the large mezzanine deck, which is said to offer superb undercover dining for up to 10 guests in complete comfort.
The hard top is a first for a Whitehaven sports yacht, a custom feature which will provide protection from the harsh NT elements, while still allowing unimpeded views and breezes.
REAL LIVING
There are three spacious cabins and three bathrooms plus a large, open-plan butler’s utility room – ideal for storage and amenities for extended cruising.
Among a myriad of custom features, the spacious full-beam master ensuite boasts twin Corian ‘concealed sinks’, a large opening porthole in the full-height shower for ventilation and sea views, and pearlescent mosaic marble tiles in the shower wall.
"As with every one of the vessels to leave our Whitehaven Motor Yacht yard, this 750 is its owners’ ideal boat that fits their individual lifestyle and boating needs to a tee," said Bruce Scott, joint Co-Director of Whitehaven Motor Yachts.
"For most brands this would be a challenge, but it’s a challenge that we accept with relish and, most importantly, we deliver on.
"From the smallest detail of styling to the most significant considerations such as the intricacies of hull design and related performance benefits, Keith and Ryan Hanson and our Naval Architect, Jason Kao, have worked diligently alongside Ray and Denise to ensure every decision contributed to the outcome they dreamed of."
PERSONAL TOUCHES
Some of these personal prerequisites include the large tender garage, built to house a 4m aluminum tender for the Davids on their planned jaunts around the Northern Territory’s rivers and coastline.
The sturdy aluminium tender is durable against the harsh landscape where the tidal range can be up to 7.5m, and it will provide a quick, safe getaway from any crocs they may encounter!
The engineroom is air-conditioned with ample head room for easy access to all key mechanical and electrical componentry, along with a work-bench and sink to make service and maintenance a hassle-free procedure. This model also has a higher bulwark around the side decks and wide flowing walk around decks, ensuring safety for family and guests onboard.
OWNER INVOLVEMENT
A large part the owners' new-boat journey has been visiting the New Ocean Yachts factory in Taiwan and witnessing the craftsmanship and pride that go into every Whitehaven.
"We loved our first Whitehaven 650 Sports Yacht, and we decided we were ready to take the next step," said Ray. "Investing in a bigger boat means we can welcome more friends and family onboard and it’s more suited to longer stints onboard, cruising the pristine waters of the Top End and Kimberley Coast.
"As Finito is likely to be our ‘forever boat’, we had certain requirements – specific needs and wants we knew only Whitehaven could fulfil," he added.
Measuring just over 22-metres, the new Whitehaven 750 Sports Yacht is due to arrive on the Gold Coast in October 2016 before heading north to Darwin where she is sure to dazzle and delight in her home waters. More at www.whitehavenmotoryachts.com.au.
