One of the most searched brands on the boatsales.com.au website is Quintrex. This month alone, the brand’s products rank in the top three searches across the site.
Boats are built on top of either the Apex pickle-fork bow that greatly increases the forward beam of the boat or a more traditional seakeeping Blade hull that includes stretch-formed sides that help the boat cut through the water and throw spray down, providing a smoother, dryer ride.
Many models in the Quintrex range have also recently undergone running changes to make them more attractive, as well as easier to own via a number of packages that fit out the boats to suit the owners’ needs.
The boats also sell with custom-designed drive-on trailers, making launching, retrieving and transporting the boat as easy as possible.
We’ve asked Quintrex general manager Sam Heyes and brand manager Madeline Bishop to tell us why these particular models resonate with buyers.
The Renegade range of tiller steer, side and centre console boats is made to be a no-fuss open fishing platform complete with front and rear casting platforms.
According to Heyes, the Renegade’s entry-level price point coupled with a priceless boating experience have helped the Quintrex 460 Renegade SC become one of the most sought-after fishing boats on the Australian market.

“With the renowned blade hull and 3mm sides, the Renegade is built to handle a range of conditions while the clean-cut design delivers ample storage, spacious real-estate for uninterrupted fishing and a large casting platform,” Heyes says.
“Together with an array of standard features including a live bait tank and rod holders, it is a fishing all-rounder.”
Quintrex is renowned for its offshore fishing boats such as the 5mm plate-bottomed Trident range of hard and soft-topped cuddy cabins, with the 610 the most affordable model.
“Derived from decades of boating excellence with Quintrex founded in 1945, the Trident goes part in parcel with the trusted brand name,” Heyes says.
“Built with the Blade Hull, the Trident is crafted using innovative stretch forming technology famous to Quintrex, to achieve a sharper entry point, increased deadrise and a narrower shoulder, meaning an impressively smooth ride whilst underway and at rest.

“Along with the Blade Hull, the Trident comes standard with an impressive amount of standard features and optional extras for ease of customisation.”
Heyes says Trident customers can buy a ready-to-go boat, motor and specially calibrated trailer package that’s built straight from the Gold Coast-based factory.
“Our soft-top cabin is a crowd favourite due to ease of storage and versatility for all fishing ventures – the cabin means comfortable overnight trips whilst standard features such as 5mm bottoms, hydraulic steering, cutting board, self-draining deck and much more make it an offshore beast,” he says.
The Hornet range of aluminium open fishing boats features Quintrex’s Apex hull that carries more beam forward.
This means the Hornet range of boats can carry more beam forward, creating a bigger forward casting platform than traditional bow designs, as well as bringing much more stability at rest. The 420 Hornet Trophy is the newest addition to the Hornet range.
“We are the leading boat brand in Australia and the reason why is simple – we know how to do fishing boats, Heyes says.

“The Hornet Trophy is a ripper fishing vessel with tons of storage and uninterrupted internal space plus a front and rear casting platform with an inbuilt live bait tank.
“A low-maintenance and compact rig, the Trophy is easy to store, tow, maintain and launch and retrieve,” he said.
“Suited for up to four people plus standard as tiller but available to be optioned up with a side console, she’s a versatile machine that is perfect for solo fishing or a day out with the kids.”
Heyes says the Quintrex 420 Hornet Trophy is crafted to suit internal river systems and estuaries, making it a popular choice for boaties looking for an inland fishing vessel that has it all.
Quintrex’s tinnie range is built from traditional clinker-pressed alloy to make them lightweight for easy handling in and out of the water.
The Busta range is at the bigger end of the tinnie range, which cycles through other models including the Dart, Wanderer, Trigger and Dory Blade.

Despite being an entry-level model, the Quintrex 420 Busta features a forward casting platform, low carpeted floor, and side pockets to make it a versatile package
“For a tough tinnie that can take you the distance, the Busta has it all – easy on the wallet and built strong,” Bishop says.
“This tinnie is designed for countless days of carefree boating.”
