Built on the Gold Coast by Riviera Marine, most of the Excaliburs find themselves exported to the US, although several have won the hearts of Aussie sportscruiser enthusiasts and are plying local waters.

With a LOA of 11.54m, the Excalibur 38 is a serious sportscruiser. Standard power is twin 7.4 MPI MerCruisers with a Bravo III legs. Optional power includes MerCruiser 454 Magnum MPIs and Volvo KAD43Ps.

Wellcraft claims the 454 Magnums provide better than 40kt performance.

The Excalibur 38 is a true entertainer. From the fully-moulded swim platform, you step through a transom door and are greeted by a spacious cockpit with a wet bar, aft sun lounge and aft cockpit table. At the forward end of the cockpit on the starboard-side is the helm station, which features a stylish dash with adjustable woodgrain steering wheel, flush-mounted gauges, compass and VHF radio. Double seating is provided at the helm, while a single passenger seat is located on the port-side.

Step below and you'll find a thoughtfully designed saloon with a dinette table, custom leather seating, overhead storage cabinets, and an entertainment centre with six-stacker CD. The galley features stylish cabinetry with high-gloss polyurethane finish, Granulon counter-top with moulded sink, microwave, fridge/freezer and appropriate lighting.

The master stateroom boasts a queen-size berth, overhead cabinets, hanging locker, screened portholes and an overhead ventilation hatch.

The head is fitted with power ventilation, vacuflush toilet with holding tank, shower stall, mirror, towel rail and moulded sink.

General options include 4kW diesel or 5kW petrol generators, 12000BTU airconditioning unit, electric stove, ice-maker and remote spotlight. The Excalibur 38 is priced from $263,279.
