
A fleet of 32 yachts started the Ocean Racing Club of Victoria’s Melbourne to Stanley Race. Gusto, the line honours winner, arrived into Stanley on the top of Tasmania with virtually no breeze, but plenty of rain. 22 vessels and their crews decided that no wind and a lot of rain were more than enough reason to turn back. www.orcv.org.au

The popular biennial MyState Financial Australian Wooden Boat Festival returns to Hobart's waterfront on 11-14 February 2011. The Enterprize, James Craig, Lady Nelson, Windeward Bound, One and All and Young Endeavour will be some of the 620 wooden boats at the world-class festival, which will be free to the public.
