Outteridge and Jensen win 49er Worlds, a gold for Aussie youth multihull team, Alinghi's new catamaran photos, Perth 2011 calling for volunteers

KEEL BOATS


The Audi Winter Series 2009 came to a close when 54 yachts started in the Ladies Day Race for the Chris Lee Trophy on Sydney Harbour. More here.


The Brisbane to Keppel Tropical Yacht Race (B2K) will be split into two divisions for the 2009 event, starting 1 August. More here.


Entries exceed 150 for the Audi Hamilton Island Race Week, starting 22 August. Details here.


Australia's new warm-weather east coast offshore sailing circuit between Pittwater in Sydney, and Southport on the Gold Coast starts in January 2010. Find more here.


Several Gosford based Endeavour yachts are set to dominate the National Championship to be conducted at Gosford over the first weekend of January 2010. More here.


The Australian Square Metre Association has been formed, and they are looking for a number of yachts. The first two yachts were built in 1937. More details here.


 - INTERNATIONAL


Racing at the British Classic Yacht Club Cowes Regatta 2009 is under way with a fleet of 54 boats competing. More info here.


The Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC), together with Rolex, announces details for the 2010 Rolex Commodores Cup to be held in Cowes, Isle of Wight, from 15-21 August 2010. More here.


The Rolex Fastnet Race has exceeded the 300 boat entry limit. Details here.


The 2009 World Match Racing Tour has reached the halfway stage and the Mirsky Racing Team (MRT) from Australia is currently in fourth place on the leader board. Find more details here.


Denmark's 49er Olympic gold medallists, Jonas Warrer and Martin Kirketerp Ibsen will compete in the Danish round of the World Match Racing Tour in September. More here.


AMERICA'S CUP

A state court in New York issued an order directing the America's Cup defender, Société Nautique de Genève (SNG), to show cause as to why it should not be held in contempt of court for failing to comply with the America's Cup Deed of Gift. More here.


OLYMPIC CLASSES


With his new crew Iain Jensen, Beijing Olympian and reigning world champion Nathan Outteridge successfully defended his 49er World Champion title on Lake Garda in Italy. Details here.


Paige Railey (USA) was the outright winner of the Laser Radial Europeans, while Tina Mihelic of Croatia won the title. Australian Gabrielle King placed 14th. More here.


The countdown is on to the ISAF Women's Match Racing World Championship in Lysekil, Sweden, from 27 July - 1 August, with eight of the twelve competing teams already having faced off at Match Cup Sweden at Marstrand. Details here.


OFF THE BEACH


Seven Youth Worlds titles went to seven nations, including Australia, on the final day of the 2009 Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship in Buzios, Brazil. Details here.


OAMPS Insurance Brokers Australia Youth Sailing Team members Jason Waterhouse and Lisa Darmanin won the Hobie 16 class at the Youth Worlds. More info here.


The Hutchins School from Tasmania won the Australian School Team Racing Championship for a third consecutive year, on a day that proved to be the toughest of the four-day competition. More details here.


Fifteen-year-old Philip Köster (Starboard/NeilPryde/Dakine) proved that he has what it takes to be the next big name in windsurfing by winning the 2009 Pozo wave event. Daida Ruano Moreno (North Sails) retains her title, and is on course for the number one spot in the overall rankings of the PWA Grand Slam. Fine more here.

Perth 2011 is calling for volunteers for the Perth 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships to be held in Fremantle from 3 - 18 December 2011. More info here.


A trawler and yacht collided nine kilometres north of Yamba on the NSW North Coast, with damage to both vessels but no injuries. More here.


Boating safety will be the focus of an interactive exhibition by NSW Maritime at the 2009 Sydney International Boat Show. Details here.

MARINE INDUSTRY


A revitalised five-member Australian Marine Industries Federation (AMIF) will renew its commitment to giving the Australian marine industry a strong national voice when it meets in Sydney on 30 July. More here.
