POWERBOATS & FISHING
Boats need to carry a lifejacket for each person onboard. A man hired a boat on Wallis Lake, NSW and was provided with sufficient lifejackets but then took additional people on board. After erratic driving, abusive behaviour and a breath test he is required to face the Forster Magistrate in Court later this month.

NSW Maritime, will host a number of free boating seminars in inland regions in January and February, providing those who are new to boating with the necessary basic safety, equipment and boating rule information.

Feb 3 - 6 -- Jess Sams Game Fishing Tournament, Ulladulla Sport & Game Fish Club. The late Jess Sam's Australian record 330lb striped Marlin was caught off Ulladulla during a nationwide fishing contest that began on January 1, 1938 and continued until late April, as part of Australia’s 150th anniversary celebrations. She was competing against 580 Australian anglers plus overseas anglers.
