Weekly Powerboats & Fishing Summary

Panda swims English Channel, Class One World Powerboat Championship in Norway, MotorGuide's new wireless trolling motors, Mustang Marine announces joint venture and more

Summary for w/b - 25 July, 2006 12pm

POWERBOATS & FISHING
Panda Swims English Channel - The Panda Terramare 4 is an amphibian based on a Fiat Panda 4x4, the smaller brother of the Fiat Punto launched in Australia this month, but with an inflatable flotation belt and waterjet propulsion driven off the rear axle. A Panda Terramare 4 crossed the English Channel in just over six hours on July 21.

U.I.M. Class One World Powerboat Championship - Jotun's Jorn Tandberg and Christian Zaborowski in the Mercury powered Jotun won the Norwegian Grand Prix in Arendal with the championship leader's Bjorn Gjelsten and Steve Curtis in Spirit of Norway second and Victory 77's Mohammed Al Marri and Jean Marc Sanchez third.

MotorGuide's new Digital Wireless Series bow-mount trolling motors are all about freedom. Freedom to make trolling motor steering adjustments from anywhere in the boat; freedom to concentrate on fishing, not boat positioning, because electric steer motors don't have the foot-off-the-pedal 'wandering' mechanical cable systems do; freedom to have more than one
person in the boat help out with trolling motor operation... in fact, up to as many as four.

Sports cruiser manufacturer Mustang Marine announces its entry into the Sports Fishing market through a joint venture with New Zealand's Oliver Marine. Built at Mustang's Gold Coast facility, the new Mustang Sports Fishing range will initially be developed to include a 37ft and 41ft flybridge cruiser, with the first boats expected to roll off the production line in November.

Yamaha Motor Finance (YMF) offers Yamaha customers an online, pre-approval loan facility to secure finance for Yamaha outboard and Yamaha powered boat/motor/trailer packages before they visit a Yamaha dealer.
