POWERBOATS & FISHING
A new Travelling Fishing Show tank has a genuine Savage boat attached to the top which acts as the fishing platform, a Mercury 60hp Four Stroke engine fitted to the boat for effect and real fish inhabit the tank for authentic demonstrations. The purpose built 45ft (13.7m) fishing tank features glass sides so spectators can easily view and learn fishing techniques from professional presenters.
Cairns Fishing Report - The river and estuary fishing is good after one of the biggest "wet" seasons for years. Quality fishing is assured offshore when the winds abate and guess what happens after a big wet in remote Cape York - the fish bite their bloody heads off!
Following several years of sponsorship difficulties for the Geraldton & Districts Offshore Fishing Club, Halco Tackle stepped up to the plate as naming rights sponsor for the 2006 Abrolhos Islands Game Fishing tournament. While the marlin fishing was very quiet this year, the light tackle fishing was spectacular, producing a classic shootout amongst the top light tackle teams.

Maritimo CEO Bill Barry-Cotter has acquired a 60-hectare (140-acre) land parcel in the Gold Coast's Coomera marine precinct and is planning a major development highlighted by a 200-berth 'boutique' marina capable of handling vessels up to 30.5-metres (100-feet) in length.
Macquarie Leisure Trust Group and Lend Lease announce the development of a 178 berth floating marina to be situated at Victoria Harbour, the centre of Melbourne's inner city Docklands precinct, subject to approval from VicUrban.
BoatStats, a new web site, has been launched to give surveyors, boat buyers and boat owners access to information previously locked up in thousands of yacht surveys carried out by professional European yacht surveyors over the last ten years.
The Royal Yachting Association (RYA) launches its Australian training operations at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia on Thursday July 13. The launch of the not-for-profit organization, which is the world's largest and oldest marine training organization, will be attended by HRH The Princess Royal (Princess Anne), who is the president of the RYA.
