Craig Bailey made a clean sweep of round three of the XLR8 Home Loans Australian F1 Superboat Series held at Hobart. There was plenty of action with very tricky weather conditions plaguing the weekend.
Gold Coast family-owned boat building company Pegiva Pty Ltd will launch worldwide its 2006 model, Retro-Sun Super Squalo Convertible at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show on May 18 - 21. The convertible motor launch has mahogany inlaid decks and a sun-lounge recessed over the engine bay area. The vessel, designed for inland waterways, reaches speeds of 45 knots.
Records rolled and the weather howled as Tasmania announced itself as the new must-visit breaming destination at the inaugural Tasmanian BREAM event, the Four Seasons Tasmania BREAM Challenge. Setting the standard from the outset and claiming the number one boaters prize was Brisbanite Steve Morgan, who compiled a 10/10, 11.95kg limit to secure his first BREAM event win, and rewrite the record books with the largest ten fish bag ever weighed in.

Until June 11 - Australia under Attack 1942-1943 at the Australian National Maritime Museum, Darling Harbour. An Australian War Memorial travelling exhibition brings together a collection of artefacts, photographs, paintings and posters from a time when many Australians believed their country was in imminent danger of invasion. Free.
