POWERBOATS & FISHING
The Wessel Islands lie in a SW to NE line from north-east Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory for 60nm into the Arafura Sea. Week-long boating safaris in this area are conducted by Top End Expeditions, a pioneer fishing and cruising operator based out of the bauxite township of Nhulunbuy on the Gove Peninsula. Up to 6 guests live aboard the mother-ship "MV Auriga Bay II" and there are two custom designed 7m, high-speed game-fishing boats. If you can't get your own group together, share the experience with new friends.

The Rivergate Marina & Slipway, 8nm down river from the entrance to Brisbane River will be officially opened in early February. The 104 berth, deep-water, floating marina, suitable for boats from 12m (39ft) to 60m (196ft) in length is now open. A service berth for yachts up to 70m (230ft) is also available. The berth has heavy vehicle access to assist with loading and unloading of parts and provisions. A professionally managed hardstand with travel lifts will be available in April.
