American throttleman John Tomlinson will partner Rashed Al Tayer in Team Abu Dhabi in the UIM Class 1 World Powerboat Championship. POWERBOATSThe Mustang sports cruiser brand returns to the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show on 19-22 May with two boats on the water. The two-cabin 32 Sports Cruiser will be unveiled in a world release. One boat is powered by a single 375hp petrol engine and stern drive while the other boat is powered by a 350hp turbo diesel and stern drive. A three-side enclosed cockpit and entertaining area has a forward helm, a galley and large L-shaped lounge, which runs along the port side and curves around the transom.
SAFETY & RESCUENSW Maritime has issued a reminder to all boat owners to have their boat regularly inspected after a solo fisherman survived his vessel sinking two and a half miles off Botany Bay. The quick actions of the skipper followed boating safety guidelines to the letter. NSW Maritime presented 20 inflatable lifejackets to Newman Senior Technical College, Port Macquarie. NEWS BRIEFSIan Murdoch, Marine Rescue Terrey Hills Radio Operator, was awarded the Region Commander's Certificate of Appreciation from NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Ken McKay.
