Shark Smart - The NSW Government will introduce a range of measures, including the first public education campaign, to help keep swimmers safe this summer. The changes will supplement the Government’s highly successful annual shark meshing program which began 1 September. More details.
Historical lighthouse tender, MV Cape Don, which is moored at the Old Coal Loader Wharf in Sydney Harbour, is going home to Fremantle for a day! A dream maybe, but by proxy. Geoff Eastwood’s intricate model of the MV Cape Don will be part of Fremantle’s celebration of World Maritime Day on 12 September. More info.

MARINE INDUSTRY
The Western Coastal Board has released a Draft Boating Coastal Action Plan (CAP) for public comment and is inviting coastal communities to participate by providing submissions and attending a series of workshops in September. More details.
The marine industry has seen the worst of the economic downturn and there’s reason for optimism, according to its largest player, Mercury Marine. More info.
