
Returning to the Gold Coast for the first time since 2007, the Australian Watercross Nationals is back and will be held at the Marine Stadium, Spit Cove, Sea World Drive, Gold Coast on April 21 and 22.
In conjunction with the Australian Jetsport Boating Association and hosted by Yamaha, Kawasaki and Seadoo, the event will feature the National Amateur title on Saturday April 21 and the National Pro title Sunday April 22.
With the support of the Gold Coast City Council, Marine Safety Queensland and the QLD Government, this exciting event is set to attract over 150 riders from eight countries. Included in the lineup are 16-time world champion Dustin Farthing, current New Zealand champion Sam Harvey and two-time World Champion Dustin Motozouris.
A long list of Australian and local riders include Australian title holder James Masterton, four-time Australian title holder Jake Barker and seven-time Australian champion Anthony Antees.
Excited to see the event back on the Gold Coast for the first time in four years is event organiser and promoter Guy Greenland of Gee Racing: "This is a really great opportunity for the Gold Coast and surrounds to see world-class international jetski racers at their best in our waters, which are some of the best in the world.
"The Gold Coast has the highest jetski sales in Australia. We are expecting a lot of spectators on Sunday so make sure to get down to Spit Cove and check out all the action."
The organisers are welcoming all sporting enthusiasts, families and anyone keen to see some of the best riders in the world showcase their talent.
Sunday’s event will be an action-packed day with not only the best of the best on the world circuit competing for the national title but will also feature the Sea World Jet Stunt Extreme Team who will be performing wild stunts. Three-time World Wakeboard Champion, Daniel Watkins will be doing a wakeboard demo, as well as a celebrity/industry race which is sure to be entertaining.
Showcasing their latest product range will be major sponsors Yamaha, Kawasaki and Seadoo.
Entry to the event will be free on both days.
