Waeco Scoops Design Award

During the inauguration ceremony of METS Amsterdam, the world's leading trade show for marine equipment

... WAECO’s new CoolMatic CR series of built-in refrigerators was awarded the DAME Design Award 2006 in the ‘interior equipment, furnishings, materials and electrical fittings used in cabins’ category.

The new CR compressor refrigerators offer “several clever design touches, including a lock to allow the cabinet to ventilate when not in use and a very positive latching mechanism”, according to the show’s awards jury.

This year’s Design Award competition attracted 136 companies from around the world presenting 166 product innovations. The trophy was granted in five different categories.

When making assessments under the DAME rules, the jurors not only consider the design, originality and the use of the products, but also the ratio of price to performance. At a power consumption of 40 to 45W, WAECO’s award-winning refrigerators use as little power as a small light bulb.
