The Australian International Scuba and Underwater Sports Expo,
otherwise known as ODEX, opens tomorrow and all weekend at the Sydney Olympic Aquatic Centre at Olympic Park, Homebush.
The 3D interactive trade and consumer show embraces just
about everything that you can imagine might take place under the water. There are also a
bunch of seminars run by pros in their respected underwater fields.
The Aqua Shots Symposium looks at surf photography,
underwater portraiture, underwater fashion, spearfishing safety, underwater photographic tips and gear. The Blue Edge Forum is a one-hour Q&A special all about freediving and spearfishing.
Then come the World Underwater Games: fin swimming
championships, underwater rugby, underwater hockey, plus world-series
freediving and finswimming.
ODEX includes try scuba diving and rebreather try dives, plus
equipment trials in a dedicated pool. Products and services relate to recreational scuba diving, dive
travel and resorts, underwater imaging, marine conservation, freediving, spearfishing,
underwater and aquatic sports.
Open September 7-8 from 10am to 5pm daily at Sydney Olympic Aquatic Centre. Entry costs $7 adults and $6 children. See www.odex.com.au for details.
