Trekking for charity

Riviera chief executive Wes Moxey took time away from the company recently to tackle the annual Outback Car Trek, which raises funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service

The trek ran from Orange in western New South Wales to Mackay on the mid-north coast of Queensland – a seven-day journey covering 3697km.

"The trek is a lot of fun, but our focus was on raising funds for a vitally important Australian institution. The event has been running since 1990 and already it has raised more than $10 million," Moxey said.

The team's fundraising program began at the beginning of May with a charity golf day at Hope Island Resort on the Gold Coast that raised $55,000 for the doctor service.

Moxey was joined for the trek by hand tool supplier.
