Travel to the USA with Maritimo

Enthusiasts can head to Fort Lauderdale Boat Show and an international powerboat race with Maritimo

A terrific experience is on offer for Maritimo owners and those who simply love boat shows as well as the thrill of offshore powerboat racing.

Organisers of the special event say participants will need to book soon if they want to accompany the Maritimo Offshore Super Boat Team on its mission to the USA to contest the 35th Annual Super Boat International Key West Championships to be held in Florida from November 8.

The world championship winning Maritimo Offshore Super Boat race team will be taking on the best offshore powerboat racers in the world when it heads to Key West this year and Maritimo will also be in South Florida the week before the race with its largest ever display at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

Maritimo’s Sales and Marketing Manager Greg Haines said the tour involving both events runs for 16 days or people who simply want to watch the racing can take part in a 12 day tour.

“What we have planned for Fort Lauderdale this year is something very exciting and bigger than we have ever done before in the USA so it is the perfect chance for Maritimo owners and boat lovers generally to take part in something that is recognised as one of the World’s best marine events,” he said.

“Then they can come along and cheer our guys on as we take on the best in the world.”

Maritimo Offshore drivers Ross (Rossco) Willaton and Peter (Muddy) McGrath will be keen to do well this year after winning the World  Superboat Championship title in 2012.

"We aim to showcase our engineering and racing talents at the Super Boat Championships in Key West and we invite all Maritimo owners, supporters and race fans to come over and cheer on the Aussies as we taken on the best in the world," said Haines.

Those taking part in the tour will be assisted by a professional guide and will enjoy events like a special Maritimo Guests’ Reception at Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, access to the race team and an exclusive reception with the team at Key West, all transfers to and from events and VIP treatment.

Mr Haines said the organisers of the tour had partnered with Maritimo to put together a package that would be a "once in a lifetime experience".

"For anyone who has ever had the desire to visit one of the world’s greatest boat shows and to experience the thrill of international standard offshore Super Boat racing this trip is a must," he said.

"We hope to see a lot of our customers, friends and supporters head to the US to be part of it; they will have an absolute ball. They will also get to meet some of our Maritimo owners in The Americas at the social events we have planned."

Bookings for the tour are likely to fill fast and with the availability of hotel rooms close to the race venues getting snapped up, anyone wishing to take part should act quickly. For all enquiries call Susanne Sharp on 1800 247 946.
