Bigger is definitely better when it comes to boats. And there’s no place to find Australia’s biggest boats than boatsales.com.au.
For many of us, owning a superyacht is little more than a dream tied to lottery tickets – and even then you’d need a pretty big win to afford one. However, for those high net worth individuals among us that can afford one of these floating palaces there’s plenty of choice available.
Here’s the pick of the boatsales.com.au behemoths. The only caveats we have is that the motor yacht has to be for recreational use, not a custom build and listed for sale in Australian dollars.
Sunseeker 40
40.2 metres (132 feet)
“Owning a Sunseeker yacht isn’t a statement. It’s something far more powerful,” the ad for this three-level motor yacht stretching the length of two tennis courts reads.
Sunseeker is a British brand with its roots in speedboats. However, in the 1990s it expanded into ever bigger boats, eventually stepping into the realm of superyachts.

The three-level living Sunseeker 40 was launched in 2011 and is still in production today. That means that even though this boat is around eight years old, it will look just as fresh as any of the other Sunseeker 40 on the water.
A couple of Sunseeker 40s are listed for sale on boatsales.com.au priced from $9,2500,000 sail-away. You won’t be lonely as the megayacht has five suites accommodating up to 11 guests, with the least salubrious a twin cabin with Pullman berths that can still convert into a double.
Some of the cabins feature drop-down hydraulic balconies that expand the living space with an uninterrupted view of the water.
As a little sweetener, you get two jet skis and a couple of tenders thrown in with the deal.
Monte Fino 122 Tri-Deck
37.2 metres (122 feet)
Despite its European-sounding name, Monte Fino Yachts is a Taiwanese shipwright specialising in intimidatingly luxurious motor yachts with a speciality in adapting designs to the whims of their owners.
A 2009-build version of this yacht is for sale on boatsales.com.au priced at $9,950,000. You’re buying it from only its second owner.

This yacht is still in production and is therefore still looks fresh to the eye. Adding to the value is the fact that this particular motor yacht had an extensive multimillion-dollar interior makeover just three years ago.
Its makers talk it up as something of a party boat. “Sleeping 12 across five cabins, she exhibits exceptional volume for her length further enhanced by well-developed space planning to deliver a spacious saloon and roomy cabins,” it says.
“Accommodation for up to seven crew allows for sufficient onboard personnel to cater for every need.
“With relaxation and entertainment areas spread across three decks, there is full provision for both energetic partying and private moments.”
Sunseeker 115 Sport Yacht
35 metres (114.8 feet)
Buy this boat, and you can also take on the crew to run it. “Perfectly maintained in class by an experienced owner, meticulous captain and dedicated crew,” it reads.
There are a number of “two-and-a-half” level Sunseeker 115 Sport Yachts listed on boatsales.com.au. Pick one of these up and you get three levels of living, including a sun-loving open flybridge – perfect if you’re the outdoors type who doesn’t suffer from vertigo.

Current owners talk up this boat as an east coast cruiser, able to lift its skirts and lope along at 18.5 knots the hull’s top speed is a somewhat more brisk 26 knots), or slow down a bit and hold a steady 10 knots to range more than 1250 nautical miles before needing a top-up for its 14,100-litre fuel capacity.
The Sunseeker 115 Sports yacht is still in production, so the design has not aged since this 2013 build was launched.
The Sunseeker 115 Sports Yacht features a full-beam master suite. Five other guest cabins can accommodate up to 10 guests, with further digs for up to four crew members. Expect to pay more than $10 million.
Mangusta 105
32.0 metres (105 feet)
Mangusta is a brand built by Italian shipwrights Overmarine. Of all the models it produces, the Mangusta 105 has been one of the brand’s best sellers, popular among owners won over by one of the most opulent, private – and oddly placed – saloons on the water.
Yep, this bad boy has the main saloon downstairs and forward of the helm, secreting it away from the rest of the boat. That way, you don’t have to mix business and pleasure.
When new, these boats were built to impress. Long and low, they have a surprisingly sleek profile. They’re quick, too, hitting a top speed of 36 knots with the twin 2250hp MTU shaftdrive engines humming, and capable of a Sydney to Gold Coast transport leg in 12 hours non-stop, one owner boasts.

Even though it’s a three-level motor yacht, the Mangusta 105 is built with only four cabins – including the owners’ stateroom with 5 vertical windows on each side – so it’s large enough for four couples and four crew.
Overmarine’s overriding emphasis for the motor yachts it built was on the quality of the materials used, and the fit and finish. The Magnusta 115s listed on boatsales.com.au were built more than a decade ago yet are still priced from a snip under $3 million.
Horizon RP97
30.5 metres (100 feet)
It may be the smallest in our list of the biggest motor yachts for sale on boatsales.com.au, but the Horizon RP97 still offers three levels of living space, including an open flybridge complete with an aft space that extends over the main cockpit.
One Horizon RP97 advertised on boatsales.com.au even has a jacuzzi mounted on the aft flybridge – an indication of how large a space it really is. It also has a $250,000 audio system ...

The Horizon RP97 is a good motor yacht for a young family, as it has deep topdecks running forward that also enclose the bow.
Built in Taiwan, the Horizon RP97 is the smallest boat in the three-model RP-badged line-up It is equipped with four staterooms, all with ensuites.
If you don’t like steering the boat from inside the saloon, the open flybridge allows you to enjoy the outdoors as you cruise around.
Befitting Horizon's status as a top-end luxury boatyard, expect to pay around $5 million for a good used example.
