Tobago 35

The Tobago 35 is the smallest in the range of six sailing catamarans from French yacht builder Fountaine Pajot. The company has been making inroads in the Australian sailing scene in recent months, with particular success in the charter industry with its

The Tobago 35 is most popular with cruising couples, and has its galley, navigation table and dining table all located in the spacious saloon. The area is partly enclosed to form a 'cap', providing protection from the elements but still offering undisturbed panoramic views while you're cooking up a feast or navigating the next leg of your journey.

The saloon opens onto a broad cockpit via a sliding glass door. It provides room for seven people to lunch al fresco-style without encroaching on the helmsman. The helm seat is located to starboard and features a locker at the base of the mast with anchor storage.

A large aft locker is located at the transom, providing access to the fuel tank and its shut-off valve.

The walkaround deck leads to the boarding steps located either side of the transom. Forward is a trampoline, suspended between the hulls with room for the whole crew to spend lazy afternoons in the sun.

The hulls in the 35ft vessel are dedicated to the cabins, and the head, located near the owner's cabin, remains private. The owner's cabin is located to port with two guest cabins on the starboard side. A twin version offers an interior layout based on two double staterooms and two heads -- the perfect alternative for two couples, with the added option of two additional forepeak berths.

The Tobago 35 is powered by twin 10hp two-cylinder diesel engines propelling twin blades and fed from a 140lt fuel tank.

The standard sail plan is a straightforward set-up designed to be managed by a cruising couple. It incorporates a 7/8 fractional rigged aluminium mast with all control points coming back to the cabin top on the port and starboard sides.

Featured is a lazyjack boom back system, controlled at the mast and equipped for double slab reefing. All winches are self-tailing.

The standard sail wardrobe carries a three reef Dacron mainsail and 120% roller furling headsail with UV protection. A cruising shoot is an optional extra.
