A restored Haines Hunter 445 centre console fishing boat featured on boatsales.com.au over the last year was this morning stolen from Dromana.
Dan Wright, who spent the last year updating readers with the progress of the classic hull’s restoration and transformation into a dedicated fishing platform, told boatsales.com.au this morning that the project boat had been spotted in Melbourne’s outer south-east.
He said the boat was last seen on Manks Road near Kooweerup around 9.30am after it was stolen from Dromana up to an hour earlier this morning.
The boat, with its distinctive hull wrap and black travel cover, and fitted with a 90hp Mercury outboard engine, was being towed by a white Ford utility.
Appeals have gone out on social media to try and track down the boat's location.
Anyone who may have seen the boat is asked to phone Victoria Police on 000.
